Paratherm Corporation has published a comprehensive data bulletin for its MR mid-range heat transfer fluid for process heating and cooling applications. Paratherm MR heat transfer fluid is rated for service from 30 degrees F to 550 degrees F, and is efficient and thermally stable.
Designed to perform under demanding conditions, the MR fluid offers extended service in a broad range of applications, including batch reactors, laminating lines and plastics and mold temperature control. Among its other advantages are its safety to the environment and lack of toxicity, as well as low vapor pressure and viscosity.
The MR fluid?s low vapor pressure and viscosity make it more economical to use than most heat transfer fluids. Its low vapor pressure, at a fraction of an atmosphere at its maximum operations temperature of 550 degrees F, permits designers considerable latitude in the choice of lower-cost equipment that does not require pressurization to prevent fluid boiling and pump cavitation. The MR fluid?s low viscosity requires less energy to pump it through the system, which enables designers to use smaller, lower-horsepower pumps and motors.
