PRINT 2001 ON INDUSTRY’S HORIZON |
 |
 |
| Prepress, Printing, Publishing, and Converting professionals are now planning to participate in the largest industry exhibition ever presented in the Americas. PRINT 2001 will be held at McCormick Place, Chicago on September 6-13, 2001. It will be the world’s foremost industry gathering in the year 2001, featuring live equipment demonstrations, product displays, and a comprehensive, professional seminar program. PRINT 2001 is expected to surpass the dimensions of the record-setting PRINT 1997, which boasted 100,000 attendees from more than 100 nations and 1,000,000 net square feet (93,000 square meters) of display space, occupied by over 1,000 exhibitors.
Displays will embrace every aspect of prepress, printing, publishing and converting, from digital design and prepublishing through package printing and finishing technologies.
PRINT shows have been held in the United States since 1968. The Graphic Arts Show Company, GASC), created in 1982, assumed management of PRINT starting with the 1985 show. Those shows, and its successors in 1991 and 1997, have all established new records for size and participation.
PRINT is now held every fourth year in Chicago, part of a rotating calendar of international events. In non-PRINT years GASC produces GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO, also in Chicago.
GASC is owned by the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL), NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing, and Converting Technologies and the Printing Industries of America (PIA). Events produced by GASC include GRAPHIC ARTS THE CHARLOTTE SHOW, GUTENBERG FESTIVAL, MIDWEST GRAPHICS, GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO, and the VUE/POINT Conference.
